The Orofino Chamber of Commerce asked for ideas for water feature to add to Heritage Park, a small piece of ground that greets visitors as the cross the bridge off of Highway 12 into Orofino. They wanted something that reflected Orofino’s logging history and (maybe) a nod towards its gold-mining origins. By creating a log “flume” flowing over gold pans, this concrete sculpture’s intent is to tie those elements together in a durable, active feature.
